The Chicago Waldorf School opened in 1974 and is an established Waldorf school in the Midwest. The school serves infants and toddlers in our Parent Child Program, and preschoolers in our Early Childhood Program. It provides a comprehensive 12 year Waldorf curriculum for students in Grades 1 – 12, with a total enrollment of over 350 students. Our campus includes a full-size gym, eurythmy rooms with sprung floors and an auditorium. In addition, we are fortunate to be two blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan. These facilities offer the structure for an outstanding movement and athletics program. We also have a full complement of gymnastic and athletic equipment and a healthy budget to facilitate our excellent program. We are seeking a colleague to collaborate with our current teacher to cover the full scope of the gym curriculum, especially in grades 7-12. Purpose & Scope of Job: Daily physical education classes for grades 7-12; coordination and oversight of the school’s extra-curricular gym/athletic program including but not limited to: hiring and mentoring of all coaches for both middle school and high school athletic teams (boys’ and girls’ soccer, basketball and volleyball); coordinating schedules, arranging transportation and organizing facilities usage for 4 teams in each of the 3 seasons; assuming some coaching responsibilities, based on areas of expertise The Chicago Waldorf School is an equal opportunity employer.
