Job Title: High School Dean of Students Company: Location: Denver, CO Description: The Dean of Students is responsible for implementing strategies that will motivate and inspire students to succeed, as well as monitor and encourage appropriate behavior. The High School Dean of students is responsible for administering the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Program and is a part of the Crisis Team. The Dean of Students will also be expected to monitor student attendance rates and ensure they remain high. In addition, a high school dean of students is responsible for all school activities such as prom, dances and other social events. Dean of students will also work with administration to evaluate supervisory duties as assigned to teachers before and after school as needed by the principal. Qualitative Requirements The High School Dean of Students should have at least three years of teaching experience; a willingness to provide consistent enforcement of school and state rules and regulations governing student behavior; experience working with parents and other adults; and excellent oral and written communication skills. The Dean of Students should be present on campus before the beginning of the school day. The ability to supervise evening events is needed. This individual should have excellent analysis and problem solving skills along with the ability to deal effectively with conflict situations Educational Requirements Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher and a current Colorado teaching license.
