Job Title: ACADEMIC COUNSELOR (2 POSITIONS)-ADVISING/COUNSELING & ASSESSMENT Company: Bunker Hill Community College Location: Boston, MA Description: Academic Counselor (2 positions)-Advising/Counseling & Assessment We are seeking two Academic Counselors to assist the College in designing and implementing a new, innovative and comprehensive success coaching model for students. The model will include a network of support systems to identify student needs, address student challenges and provide appropriate services and referral, in an effort to enhance student success and retention. Specific Duties:·         Develop a coaching program based on best practices to address emerging student transition issues and contemporary challenges.·         Administer and interpret novel assessment protocols to identify the strengths and weaknesses of new students in regard to their entry-level basic skills and motivation.·         Compile a profile for each new student and develop a personalized educational plan, including matching the student with a Learning Community relevant to his/her prior experience and skill set.·         Provide the array of traditional student support services including enrollment, financial aid, academic, career/vocational, and transfer advising; administer and interpret academic and personal assessments; develop and administer support workshops in collaboration with other College offices; consult with faculty and staff; explore supporting resources and make appropriate referrals; and serve as liaison to community agencies.·         Comply with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Required Qualifications:·         Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field, plus three (3) years experience and/or training involving college admissions, academic advisement, career development or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. ·         Experience working with students in a student services/client services or equivalent setting·         Proficiency in student information systems as well as MS Word and Excel·         Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills·         Experience working in a diverse environment·         Ability to work two evenings per week (11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) Salary Range: $45, 940.00-$56,276.50 Effective Date: Both Positions Will Remain Opened Until Filled.
