About Us:
Hancock Grammar School, is a small community-focused elementary school located in beautiful coastal Maine, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This is a full-time position supporting students with communication challenges, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, families, and support staff.
  • Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to improve language development, articulation, fluency, and social communication skills.
  • Provide strategies and resources for teachers and families to support communication growth in the classroom and at home.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and administration to create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Maine state licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred, but Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome to apply.
  • Experience working with school-aged children is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for working in a small, rural school setting with a close-knit community.
