This part-time position requires a specialist to assist with the communication needs of approximately 30 students, focusing primarily on mental health-related special education challenges.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree (M.S. / M.A.) in Communication Disorders
- Licensed or License-eligible with RIDOH and RIDE
- ASHA CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Experience providing services as a School-Based SLP or Pediatric-Focused SLP is preferred
- Familiarity with developing treatment plans and collaborating with other Special Education professionals
Location: Warwick, RI K-12 Private School Environment
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assess students' communication skills
- Provide tailored services to school-aged children with varying disabilities
- Collaborate with Special Education professionals to design and implement treatment plans
- Participate in documentation, report writing, and IEP meetings as required
- Support students in overcoming communication barriers that impact their learning
