PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The role of the Assistant Superintendent for Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships is to lead initiatives that will identify, cultivate and strengthen collaboration between the school district, its school community and strategic partners. Collaboration with the school community and strategic partners includes ensuring strong connections with groups including but not limited to families, community-based organizations, businesses, institutions of higher education and other organizations that will enhance educational opportunities. The Assistant Superintendent will promote the advancement of student achievement, drive the growth of the district through innovative practices and maximize community engagement by building strategic partnerships aligned to district goals.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Master's Degree in educational administration or in a related field

Successful leadership and/or administrative experience in managing a communications department or administrative team.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Visionary leadership

Ability to design and implement plans for effective community engagement and expansion of strategic partnerships

Ability to analyze data, assess partnership performance, and identify areas for improvement.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with district stakeholders and current or potential partners.

Excellent communication skills to effectively present partnership proposals and reports.

A good understanding of public education and the competitive landscape.

Effective communication skills both verbal and written.

Good organizational and supervisory skills.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in public school administration, community engagement or partnership development.

Proven experience in partnership management, business development, or related roles with successfully establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships as supported by evidence.

Experience with and evidence of strategic thinking abilities, including the capacity to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities for collaboration.

Major Responsibilities and Duties/Essential Functions:

Seek community support for educational issues supporting the district's goals and objectives.

Monitor collaborative efforts with local media to promote campus and District events and programs.

Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to identify new partnership opportunities and adapt strategies as needed.

Serve as the liaison to structure opportunities for district collaborations.

Oversee and monitor the execution of plans for community engagement and partnership initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with goals of the district's strategic plan.

Coordinate strategic planning focus group meetings with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and provide strategic plan updates.

Direct the day-to-day activities of the division of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships to communicate and cascade school reform initiatives throughout the district using various media.
