Open until filled. The goal of the Speech Language pathology Assistant (SLP-A) is to assist Speech Language Pathologists to provide speech and/or language services in the school setting for students who have been identified as having speech and/or language disabilities which interfere with the childs ability to derive benefit from the educational program.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders, Communication Science or Speech Pathology preferred. We may consider a candidate with equivalent preparation (defined as 21 hours in five speech/language areas, 25 hours of observation and 25 hours of clinical assisting or practicum.)
Certification: Eligible for Substitute Teaching Certificate, with MO Teaching certificate preferred.
Other: Effective human relations and communication skills.
Preferred: See above or undergraduate degree in special education.
Ideal Candidate: Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders, Communication Science or Speech Pathology preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech Language Pathologist with the implementation of IEPs, screening and documenting progress; and other activities such as early intervening services and language-literacy activities with non-disabled students.
- Conferences with parents and school staff on a regular basis.
- Complies with all district rules, regulations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
