Position Overview:
A public school district in DeKalb, Illinois is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its special education team for the upcoming school year. This full-time, in-person role serves K12 students, providing both direct and consultative therapy services within a collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments, evaluations, and re-evaluations for speech and language needs
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and federal guidelines
Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on communication goals
Track student progress and maintain up-to-date documentation
Partner with families, teachers, and support staff to enhance student outcomes
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to the multidisciplinary team
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Active Illinois SLP license (IDFPR) and PEL with SLP endorsement
Previous school-based experience preferred, though not required
Familiarity with IDEA, IEP processes, and child speech/language development
Strong communication and organizational skills
