TITLE: SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (BILINGUAL PREFERRED)REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL SERVICESJOB SUMMARY: To evaluate and diagnose students at risk for communication, fine/gross motor,sensory, hearing & visual disorders, and to provide direct service to students as required by IEPs. QUALIFICATIONS:1. Massachusetts certification for Speech & Language Therapist orProfessional state licensure, as appropriate.2. Masters degree required.3. Three years experience working within a school/clinical setting4. Knowledge of IDEA regulations5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Implements all aspects of Child Find: referring, screening, evaluating, diagnosing and recommendingintervention strategies for referred students2. Completes all assessments, including written report within timelines mandated by IDEA.3. Completes all progress reports within timelines mandated by IDEA4. Maintains written records of service delivery for all students5. Consults with administration, staff and families regarding interventions and strategies for identifiedstudents.6. Participates and reports evaluation results to IEP eligibility meetings.7. Observes students in their learning environments, as requested8. Provides direct clinical services to students in a variety of settings, as required9. Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with evaluation instruments andtools.10. Consults with other medical/clinical professionals as needed.
