Qualifications:
Required: Must hold a Master's Degree with a valid license through the Missouri Board of Healing Arts. Individuals in their Clinical Fellowship year are also encouraged to apply as the district is able and willing to provide appropriate supervision. Have or able to obtain a MO NPI (National Provider Identifier) Number.
FLSA: Exempt
Salary Schedule: Per Approved SLP Salary Schedule
Direct Report: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: 9 Month
Eligible for emergency telework: Yes
Purpose: To assess, identify and treat speech and language disorders in children according to IDEA and DESE standards.
Essential Job Functions:
* Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
* To "telework" when requested by the District.
* Participates in direct service billing for Medicaid.
* Serves as a resource to school staff members to provide intervention strategies.
* Provides a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of children who are eligible for special education services in the areas of speech and language.
* Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
* Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech and language impairments.
* Provides screenings to identify students who require speech and/or language interventions and/or referral for formal assessment.
* Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to develop a comprehensive and individualized education plan.
* Provides information and support to parents and families when appropriate.
* Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech and language skills.
* Keeps thorough ongoing records for individual students receiving speech and/or language services, including but not limited to therapy logs, progress reports, Individual Education Plans and evaluation reports.
* Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies.
* Other assigned duties.
