Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 6/6/2025 Location: District Wide Date Available: 08/18/2025 Closing Date: Until Filled Description: Lincolnshire Prairie View School District 103 seeks an enthusiastic and experienced indivdual for part-time (.60 FTE / 3 days per week) Speech and Language Pathologist position. This position will focus on evaluation and diagnostic responsiblities across multiple buildings. Purpose: District 103 is seeking a part-time Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve students across all three schools (PreK-8) with a primary focus on conducting assessments, screenings, and evaluations as part of the special education eligibility process. The SLP will support student learning and access to curriculum by identifying and documenting communication needs in the areas of articulation, language, voice, fluency, and related areas, and will collaborate closely with IEP teams to determine appropriate supports. Qualifications: A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) highly preferred Current Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license in Speech-Language Pathology Strong knowledge of IDEA and Illinois regulations related to special education eligibility and service provision Expertise in conducting comprehensive evaluations using a variety of standardized and informal tools Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, teachers, and parents Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students being considered for special education eligibility across the district Complete classroom-based observations and gather data to inform assessment Participate in problem-solving and evaluation planning meetings Prepare written evaluation reports that clearly summarize assessment results, interpretation, and educational implications Present findings and recommendations at eligibility and IEP meetings Collaborate with school teams and parents to ensure a shared understanding of students' needs Provide occasional direct services as determined necessary by IEP teams Maintain accurate records, documentation, and timelines in accordance with IDEA and district procedures Stay current with research-based practices in assessment and intervention Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team Educate staff and parents about communication disorders and their impact on learning Adhere to professional ethics and all applicable laws, policies, and procedures Work Environment and Physical Demands: This position involves work across three school sites (Sprague, Half Day, and Daniel Wright schools) Physical requirements include occasional lifting, bending, and sitting/standing for extended periods Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple evaluation timelines simultaneously Note: This is a part-time, itinerant position designed to enhance the district's evaluation capacity and ensure timely, high-quality assessments for students being considered for or already receiving special education services.
