Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and supports the overall academic success and communication development of students attending Visions in Education. The SLP works collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. In addition, the SLP is responsible for supervising Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), ensuring their services align with professional standards and student needs, and providing ongoing mentorship and oversight. Work Environment: This position is based in a dynamic, student-centered charter school environment. The SLP will work a hybrid schedule of 2 days at our office in Gold River, CA and 3 days from home. However, depending upon the needs of the department this schedule is subject to change. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine eligibility for special education services. Develop and implement IEPs, including setting appropriate goals and documenting student progress. Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to students with a range of communication needs. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to integrate speech and language goals into daily instruction. Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based planning sessions. Maintain accurate and timely records, including progress reports, session notes, and required documentation for compliance. Supervise and support Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to professional guidelines. Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and caregivers to support student progress and engagement. Utilize culturally responsive practices and materials to meet the diverse needs of the student population. Remain current with professional best practices, continuing education, and licensure requirements. Qualifications: Valid license from the state licensing board and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferably from ASHA. Knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and evidence-based intervention strategies. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
