Employment Details
Full-time remote position requiring 37.5 hours weekly, concentrating on grades K-5 with a carefully managed caseload of 40-50 students. Early intervention focus emphasizes building foundational communication skills that support academic achievement and social development.
Pediatric Specialization
Elementary students benefit significantly from consistent, engaging virtual therapy that incorporates play-based activities, interactive games, and age-appropriate intervention strategies. Virtual format often reduces anxiety and distractions, allowing focused attention on communication goals.
Daily Activities
- Administer comprehensive speech-language assessments
- Create individualized therapy plans targeting specific communication objectives
- Deliver interactive virtual therapy sessions using child-friendly platforms
- Maintain detailed progress documentation and data collection
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on curriculum integration strategies
- Provide parent training and home practice recommendations
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
Licensing Requirements
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
- ASHA CCC-SLP certification
- Active Ohio speech-language pathology license
- Minimum 2 years pediatric or school experience
- Virtual therapy experience highly valued
- Knowledge of child development and learning theories
- Excellent patience and creativity with young learners
Early Intervention Focus
Expertise in addressing developmental communication delays, phonological processes, early language development, and pre-literacy skills essential for academic readiness.
