Job Title: Assistant Dean for Curriculum & Assessment Department: Engineering | Undergraduate Studies The Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment, for the College of Engineering (COE), reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Student Services and coordinates curriculum development for undergraduate programs. Assists in the design, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for undergraduate curriculum development and student academic response plans. Facilitates and oversees approval processes and record keeping for new and changed courses and programs. Partners with associate deans, department chairs, and other college leadership on college-wide curricular issues. Represents the college on various college committees and represents the college on university committees related to curriculum. Provides administrative oversight for College's assessment and accreditation processes. Serves as college contact for ABET and coordinates accreditation visits. Oversees university assessment process for COE. Organizes all academic committees in the college and documents meetings. Provides strategic guidance and trains faculty on University and College rules and policies pertaining to academic affairs. Liaise with the Council on Academic Affairs, Committee on Academic Misconduct, and University Registrar. Collects and maintains policies and guidelines concerning academic actions such as warnings, probation, dismissal, and reinstatement. Oversees funding distribution for student competitive projects and other design projects. Serves as liaison to Ohio Society of Professional Engineers and State of Ohio Engineers and Surveyors Board. Performs other related duties as assigned. Additional Information: The target hiring range for this job profile is $75,700 - $98,900. Actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc. Required: Resume & Cover Letter Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 8 years' experience leading academic advising and/or curriculum development and administration, or related area. Experience working with and contributing to diverse learning environments. Experience leading and coordinating large committees. Strong attention to detail skills and ability to organize multiple tasks at a time. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with faculty from a wide variety of disciplines. Ability to work independently and delegate tasks effectively. Ability to work cooperatively and strategically across functions, levels and departments. Desired Qualifications: Ph.D. in Higher Education & Student Affairs, or a related field of study. Experience teaching or advising in engineering or other STEM discipline. Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education. Knowledge of Engineering curriculum and ABET accreditation.
