Job Title: Campus Receptionist/Attendance Clerk Wage/Hour Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Reports To: Principal/Assistant Principal Dept./School: Elementary

Primary Purpose:

To provide clerical support and assistance for the efficient operation of the campus office. To process and generate attendance calls, generate timely attendance reports for each attendance cycle, review PEIMS reports for submission to PEIMS Coordinator, teacher reconciliation, and coding student absences.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

High School diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Ability to interpret and follow instructions

Uses computer, printer, copier, and calculator

Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Email

Must be able to coordinate virtual calls with parents

Strong organization, communication and public relations, and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1.Provide quality customer service and professional behavior when working with staff, parents, and students.

  1. Communicate with parents, students, and staff on a variety of attendance issues.

  2. Prepare daily attendance reports, teacher reconciliation reports, and other reports as necessary.

  3. Ensure the accuracy of attendance records and reports.

  4. Call parents to verify absences and determine the reason for a student's absence.

  5. Maintain attendance records per district policy and state law.

  6. Assist campus administrator in verifying residence by providing data and reports as requested.

  7. Maintain, process, and print data related to attendance.

  8. Assist administrators in processing records for truancy prevention and court referrals.

  9. Coordinate PEIMS information with the Registrar, PEIMS Coordinator and special programs.

  10. Notify administration of teachers who do not take attendance daily.

  11. Maintain a log of students who leave and return to school daily.

  12. Follow procedures as outlined in the district's attendance handbook.

  13. Maintain reviews and code absence codes in the student system.

  14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions

Terms of Employment:

Primary Location: Anthony Elementary School

Clerical/Paraprofessional Plan/Pay Grade 1

Min: $15.00-Mid: $18.07

Term of Employment: 207 days/40 hours per week
