A school district in Rockford, Illinois is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with communication and language needs. This school-based role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment and help students achieve meaningful communication outcomes.
Position Overview:
The SLP will provide direct therapy, conduct evaluations, support IEP development, and collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists. You'll work with students across grade levels who require speech and language support to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language therapy services as outlined in student IEPs
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
Collaborate with educators, parents, and service providers to support student goals
Document progress and maintain compliance with district and state requirements
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to intervention planning
Help students generalize communication skills across educational settings
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Active Illinois SLP teaching license (ISBE certification required for school-based roles)
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
Experience in a school setting preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to support diverse student populations and needs
