School Occupational Therapist Opening Support Student Success in Columbus, OH

Columbus City Schools is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapy services to students across various grade levels. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated school-based team focused on improving student independence and classroom participation through functional support.

Position Overview:
As a school-based OT, youll assess student needs, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with teachers and other specialists to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, and daily task performance in the school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations to determine student eligibility and functional needs

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals

• Support students fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, and self-help abilities

• Provide direct and consultative OT services in classroom and therapy settings

• Maintain detailed records and participate in IEP meetings

• Collaborate with staff and families to generalize strategies into daily routines

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active Ohio OT License

• Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for OT

• Previous experience in schools or pediatric therapy preferred

• Effective communication, time management, and teamwork skills

Position Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: Monday through Friday during regular school hours

• Caseload: K12 (varies by site and assignment)
