Occupational Therapist Needed Help Columbus Students Succeed in the Classroom

Columbus City Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their K12 student services team. This full-time, onsite position focuses on supporting students with developmental, physical, or sensory needs to improve their functional performance in academic settings.

About the Role:
As an OT in the school system, youll work with general and special education students to promote independence in classroom activities and daily routines. Youll serve as an essential collaborator with teachers, parents, and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete assessments to identify functional and sensory-motor needs

• Create and implement therapy plans tailored to IEP goals

• Provide both direct therapy and consultation to staff

• Address handwriting, posture, sensory regulation, and task organization

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insight

• Maintain detailed documentation and service records

Requirements:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Ohio

• Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services Certification (OT)

• School-based or pediatric experience preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Position Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: MondayFriday, school hours

• Caseload: K12 (assigned by district need)
