Start Date 06/03/2025 Open Date 06/18/2025 Closing Date Start Date 08/04/2025 Certification Required Speech-Language Impaired Additional Job Information Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institute in Communication Science Disorders A Bachelor's degree applicant must apply and be accepted in an accredited graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders within 2 (two) years from hire date Valid Florida certification in-field or hold appropriate state license for the position Experience in public schools Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Communication Science Disorders is desirable Performance Responsibilities: Prepare educational plans annually for each student based on individually assessed needs in accordance with district procedures Prepare therapy plans for each student Provide appropriate schedules for students involving school personnel as required Participate in the in-school staffing and screening processes as appropriate Participate on evaluation teams for speech, language and hearing impaired students as appropriate Provide diagnostic/evaluation testing for students failing speech/language screening Cooperate with school personnel in coordinating Exceptional Student Education services within that school Develop and conduct professional development for other professionals, parents or community members Confer with the classroom teacher, as requested, concerning any educational needs of the student Make available to teachers instructional ideas that are appropriate for students with special needs within the classroom situation Design the Exceptional Student Education program so that it is consistent with the educational philosophy of the district Work in coordination with other Exceptional Student Education teachers in planning and developing the program Ensure that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records in his/her permanent folder Complete progress reports on each student in the program Supply progress reports to school personnel and to parents of exceptional students as necessary and requested Complete appropriate reports for local, state, federal and educational agencies Refer those students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agencies Continue professional growth through educational meetings and by reading professional literature Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Student Education and Student Services and/or designee Salary Salary based upon approved salary schedule - Instructional Duty Days/Hours 197 days, 7.75 hrs/day Fill ASAP?
