Physical Therapist - School Setting in Gig Harbor, WA

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract A full-time School Physical Therapist position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 school setting located in Gig Harbor, WA. This contract role runs from September 2nd through June 12th (subject to snow make-up days), Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day, providing in-person services to support students' physical development and mobility within the educational environment. In this role, you will work directly with a caseload of approximately 30-35 students ranging from PreK through 12th grade, supporting those with a wide spectrum of disabilities. Collaboration with teachers, school staff, and families is essential to develop and implement individualized therapy plans that enhance student independence and access to learning opportunities. Some travel within the district may be involved. Key Qualifications and Experience: Current Washington State Certificate as an Educational Staff Associate with Physical Therapist endorsement Prior experience working in school settings preferred Strong background in student assessment, evaluation, and therapeutic consultation Knowledge of special education processes and procedures Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with special needs and their families Effective communication skills, empathy, patience, and a collaborative mindset Spanish language proficiency is a plus Primary Responsibilities: Deliver individualized physical therapy services tailored to student needs Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to guide intervention planning Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress Maintain accurate documentation and participate in special education meetings as required This opportunity allows you to make a tangible difference in students' educational experiences by enhancing their physical abilities and independence.
