Type: Permanent Hire
Schedule: This is a full time position and follows a 9 month school schedule
Pay: $30 - $41 per hour based on experience and certification
Travel: Travel between schools can be required (paid both mileage and drive time)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students in a school setting. The SLP or SLPA will provide therapy services to children with speech, language,munication, and related disorders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve theirmunication goals andmitted to creating a positive, supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities for Speech - Language Pathologist
Assessment and Evaluation: Conductprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders and determine students' eligibility for services.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) and treatment plans based on evaluation results, student needs, and school goals.
Therapy Delivery: Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on speech sound production, language development, fluency, voice, andmunication needs.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and generalization of skills in the classroom and at home.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, IEPs, and assessments inpliance with school policies and state regulations.
Supervision: If applicable, supervise the work of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and other support staff.
Professional Development: Stay updated on current practices, research, and regulations in speech-language pathology, and participate in school-based professional development activities.
Qualifications for the Speech-Language Pathologist:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Current state licensure and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (Certificate of Clinical Competence, CCC-SLP).
Experience working in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
Understanding of special education laws, including IDEA and IEP processes.
