A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist position is available at a middle school setting in Cary, Illinois, serving students in grades 6 through 8. This contract role runs from the start date ASAP with another term beginning August 18, 2025, through May 29, 2026. The position offers a commitment of 40 hours per week and focuses on delivering tailored speech and language support to a diverse student population.
Two distinct roles are open:
- Position 1: Serving approximately 10 students within a Specialized Autism & Developmental Program, addressing moderate to severe needs. Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices is preferred for this role.
- Position 2: Supporting around 35 students with mild to moderate speech and language challenges, providing targeted interventions and therapy.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably with school-based experience.
- Familiarity with Autism spectrum disorders and developmentally appropriate interventions.
- Proficiency or experience with AAC devices and technology is highly desired.
- Ability to manage caseloads of various severity and provide individualized therapy plans.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop effective speech and language therapy programs.
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions for students with speech and language impairments.
- Utilize AAC devices when appropriate to enhance communication.
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support student success.
