Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Instruction & Equity The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Equity is a 12-month cabinet-level position. This position is responsible for leading and monitoring general school operations, including but not limited to the oversight of Curriculum, Instruction, Social and Emotional Learning, and the district's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This confidential and managerial position will perform the duties, and all other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Familiarity with NYS ELA & MATH standards. Experience in public school administration or public school district administration, Experience in leadership of curriculum and instruction and must have at least five (5) years of successful teaching experience and a minimum of (3) years of experience as a building principal/supervisor/administrator. Candidates must demonstrate successful leadership in school improvement, program development and evaluation as well as experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Candidates will also demonstrate expertise in effective instructional strategies with a focus on specific subgroups, classroom management, learning assessment and research-based best practices related to student learning. Candidates will exhibit excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate people as well as a proven experience in budget development and fiscal responsibilities. DUTIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Serves as contributing member of the Superintendent's Cabinet teamMaintains positive, collaborative working relationships with students, parents, district and school staff, and community-based agencies,Establishes collaborative working relationships with collective bargaining units in the district,Initiates and maintains the development of programmatic goals and instructional objectives,Analyzes student data and organizes monthly school-based student data meetings,Organizes and implements the district's professional development plans inclusive but not limited to: APPR, Superintendent conference days, pre & in-service trainings, new staff orientation, teacher mentoring programs, and other professional growth opportunities for staff,Supervise all district DEI initiatives,In collaboration with the Assist. Superintendent of PPS, oversee Tier intervention system for the district & supervise the effective implementation of MTSS for all students, Works with Directors to ensure the implementation and state compliance of programs such as NYS CR-Part 154 for English Language LearnersSupports the Director of Technology to ensure the effective use of technology as an instructional tool in district schools and classrooms,Organizes and supervises curriculum planning, implementation, and annual teacher and administrator observation activities within an established schedule/timeline,Establishes and coordinates the procurement, evaluation and implementation of instructional resources in collaboration with various district stakeholders,In collaboration with other members of the district's administrative team, conduct classroom observations and visitations to assess curricular program implementation and effectiveness, teacher performance, and student engagement,Submits grant applications and state level reporting in a timely manner in accordance with NYS regulations,Presents department objectives, program plans, and performance reports/updates to the Superintendent, Board of Education, and the community at large,Continues to grow professionally through research-based learning offerings/conferences/workshops and participates in regional consortiums for ASCI,Serves as liaison between NYS Education Department and all district instructional staff in communicating and planning program requirements of state statutes, Board of Regents rules/updates and mandated state and federal program updates,Aligns all curriculum objectives to the district's Pillars of Learning and Portrait of a Learner (POL) goals,Performs other tasks and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of schoolsNEW YORK STATE CERTIFICATION: School District LeaderEDUCATION: Doctorate degree preferredTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months, competitive salary and benefit Package
