Job Description
This part-time contract opportunity offers a meaningful role supporting K-12 students in a dynamic school setting located in Elgin, IL. The position, designed for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or potentially a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), focuses on enhancing students' ability to participate fully in classroom activities. The assignment runs from August 11, 2025, through December 19, 2025, with the possibility of extension, and includes a paid orientation on August 4-5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student participation in classroom activities through support of fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
- Modify tasks and environments to accommodate individual student needs
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate
- Prepare detailed, comprehensive reports based on assessments and observations
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives and accommodations
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and peers to communicate student progress and intervention strategies
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for an Illinois state license as an OT or COTA
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Flexibility and effective problem-solving capabilities
