Job Description
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist with experience and certification (SLP-CCC) is needed for a unique educational setting serving students with severe disabilities. This full-semester contract position begins August 21, 2025, and runs through June 13, 2026, with the possibility to continue into the Extended School Year (ESY) summer program. The role offers 37.5 hours per week in a specialized, student services environment.
The school serves approximately 140 students aged 5 to 22 from multiple districts, functioning as an outplacement setting for students whose needs exceed typical district capabilities. Students present with a range of diagnoses but primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder, exhibiting challenges such as physical and behavioral aggression, toileting difficulties, stimming behaviors, and non-verbal communication. The campus includes multiple buildings for elementary through high school levels, as well as a vocational program.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive speech-language pathology services tailored to students individual needs
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team including social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and behavior analysts
- Supporting communication goals for students with complex needs, often involving 1:1 paraeducator support
- Participating in program planning and progress monitoring within a year-round school model
- Implementing strategies to address behavioral and communication challenges in a highly supportive, structured educational environment
Qualifications:
- Current SLP-CCC certification with relevant clinical experience
- Expertise in working with school-aged students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and significant communication disabilities
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and using individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt communication interventions for students with diverse and complex profiles
