An opportunity is available for a certified Occupational Therapist to support middle and high school students in a K-12 educational environment located in Tijeras, NM. This full-time position (part-time considered) offers a 25/26 school year contract, serving as an itinerant practitioner within the school district. The focus will be on providing occupational therapy services to students in grades 6 through 12, promoting their educational participation and functional independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) specifically for Occupational Therapy.
- Current and valid New Mexico Occupational Therapist (OT) license.
- Experience working with middle and high school populations.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively in an itinerant role.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and educational staff.
Location: Tijeras, New Mexico
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services and interventions tailored to individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational team members to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Conduct evaluations and ongoing assessments to monitor student progress.
- Support students in acquiring skills needed for academic success and daily living activities within the school setting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district policies.
