Position Overview:
The Pickerington Local School District seeks qualified applicants for an Assistant Middle School Principal - Grades 5 & 6.
Candidates must have strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Job Goal:
To assist the principal in providing leadership and administration which will motivate instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both
educationally and personally.

Qualifications:
• Valid Ohio certificate/license for principal which includes grades 5-6
• Master's degree, with a major in elementary administration, curriculum, and supervision, preferred
• Minimum of four (4) years successful classroom teaching experience (at least 18 months in an elementary or middle school level under a standard elementary/middle teacher's certificate/license)
• Successful demonstration and/or knowledge of the five Ohio Standards for Building Principals preferred
• Ability to intepret/analyze data to determine student success
• Ability to perform as an instructional leader with staff and work collaboratively with building principal
• And/or any additional qualifications, training, or other credentials, as determined by the Board of Education

Required Skills & Abilities:
• Communication Skills: Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret information relevant to the position, including being able to speak effectively to small and large groups
of people and to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Leadership Ability: Must be able to articulate a vision and mission for the district and provide the appropriate direction, guidance and management skills to achieve them
• Mathematics Skills: Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical and computational concepts
• Reasoning Ability: Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Technology Skills: Able to effectively use, as it applies to your specific job function, typical office applications and computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations; must be able to use email
• Experience with diverse populations of staff and students

Salary:
Commensurate with experience (200 Day Contract)
