League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the autism spectrum. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a PHYSICAL THERAPIST to work 30-32 hours per week at our program in Walpole. Hours will be flexible during the school days. Pay rate is $50 - $55/hour. Benefits are available for this position.Position Requirements:Masters degree or equivalent number of years experience in physical therapy.Current registration and licensure in Commonwealth of Massachusetts.Safety Care, CPR, and First Aid certifications (League School will provide training).Valid drivers license.Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.Supervision Received: Director of Neurodiversity and Outreach Duties and Responsibilities include the following:1.Develop goals and objectives for the IEP in consultation with the team for each student on the caseload which is a current student at League School.2.Help students accomplish IEP goals by administering manual and non-manual exercises, physical activities, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities. May sometimes use assistive and supportive devices.3.Collects and records data and provides data sheets to teachers regarding performance on physical therapy goals. Monitors student progress and collaborates with classroom staff on goals to facilitate quarterly progress report writing for IEPs.4.Consults with Head Teacher and classroom staff regarding programming, exercise programs accommodation, and other physical therapy issues as they impact the child and the classroom.5.Participates in meetings with parents/guardians, public school personnel, and annual reviews, as needed.6.Develops a therapeutic and effective relationship with students: uses appropriate voice modulation, sets reasonable boundaries with communication and actions, etc.7.Completes written reports, as needed, in a timely manner: Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Quarterly Progress Reports, Individualized Education Programs, and Evaluations.8.Conducts formal assessments and generates data-based written reports as directed by the Director of Neurodiversity and Outreach.9.Maintains student (patient) confidentiality.10.Maintains safe and clean working environment by following established protocols.11.Complies with federal, state and local requirements.12.Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continual professional development and industry review.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.Benefits:League School offers a substantial benefit package that includes 75% employer paid health and dental, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, tuition assistance up to $5,000 per school year, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, professional development opportunities, as well as paid Sick and Personal days in addition to school vacation weeks off.Equal Opportunity EmployerLeague School for Autism is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment that is free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by federal and state laws.
