Speech and Language Pathologist in West Hartford, CT

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech-Language Pathology professional is needed for an in-person, contract position serving an elementary school in West Hartford, CT. This role supports speech and language development for Pre-K students, beginning August 25, 2025, with student instruction starting August 28, 2025, and continuing through June 10, 2026. The position offers a consistent 35-hour workweek from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver speech-language therapy targeting assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and both receptive and expressive language delays. Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as needed to inform student support plans. Prepare detailed, clear, and actionable reports based on assessments and observations. Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives tailored to student needs. Collaborate effectively with parents and colleagues to monitor progress and address challenges. Qualifications: Possession of or eligibility for a Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) certification and teaching certificate from the Connecticut Department of Education (DOE). Experience in school settings is advantageous but not required. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
