School Speech Therapist - Wewoka, Oklahoma

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is needed for a full-semester contract during the 2025-26 school year. This full-time, in-person position is based in Wewoka, Oklahoma, serving a K-12 school environment. The caseload includes approximately 25-30 students, primarily from 4th to 7th grade. Students present a variety of needs, including speech impairments, learning disabilities, and other health impairments. Therapy sessions are scheduled for 2-3 days each week, offering a structured yet flexible schedule to address diverse communication and learning challenges. Responsibilities include: Providing direct speech-language therapy tailored to each student's specific needs Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to create effective individualized education plans (IEPs) Documenting progress and maintaining accurate records in accordance with school policies Utilizing therapeutic interventions for a mixed caseload that varies in disability types and severity Supervising and working alongside a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students Qualifications: Must hold a current SLP certification with CCC from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Experience working with school-age children across multiple grades and diverse disability profiles Ability to adapt therapy strategies for a caseload ranging from speech-only to more complex learning and health impairments Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate within the school setting This role offers the opportunity to impact student communication development in a supportive educational environment.
