School Speech Pathologist Assistant - Norristown, Pennsylvania

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for an elementary school setting in Norristown, Pennsylvania. This contract position is for the current school year (CSY) and involves providing essential speech and language services to young learners. Responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Diagnosing communication disorders and developing detailed evaluation reports. Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans, including IEP goals for school-based therapy. Delivering direct therapy addressing articulation, language delays, stuttering, voice issues, pragmatic/social communication, and swallowing difficulties. Monitoring and documenting student progress regularly. Collaborating with educators, parents, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other team members. Participating in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary planning. Providing consultation and training to teachers and caregivers. Supervising Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and other clinical personnel as appropriate. Maintaining accurate, compliant documentation according to state and federal guidelines. Adhering to ethical standards set by ASHA and the Pennsylvania licensing board. Keeping licensure current and engaging in ongoing professional development. Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Pennsylvania state license in Speech-Language Pathology. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is strongly preferred. PDE certification required for work within public schools. Strong clinical evaluation skills combined with excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
