About the Park School
The Park School is a Pre-K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA, dedicated to excellence in education. The School Receptionist is a staff member and reports to the Assistant to the Head of School for Finance and Operations. We are seeking two 12-month part-time team members: mornings (7 am-1 pm) and afternoons (1 pm-6 pm). The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, and highly organized, with a commitment to creating a warm, welcoming environment for the school community.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for greeting visitors, providing a great first impression, and making them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Responsible for answering the telephone, delivering messages to employees and students throughout the school day.
- Responsible for completing a background scan using the Schools Raptor Technology and issuing a name tag for all visitors to the School.
- Responsible for providing information about missing attendance data to the Division Heads on a daily basis.
- Responsible for managing the flow of people in and out of the building. Attention to security management is important.
- Responsible for supporting the Athletic Department with scheduling games, populating the visitor screen with pictures and relevant information, and other administrative support, as needed
Qualifications
- Awareness and appreciation of a culturally diverse community, including racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, language, and gender identity diversity, is a key component of any job expectation within our community.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are valued.
- Strong technology skills, including the use of various web and database tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- The ability to deploy situational awareness to preserve the safety of students and community members.
- The ability to think independently and collaborate in a team environment
- The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead.
- The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs.
- The ability to consistently operate a computer. Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the school
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- The ability to maintain focus in an energetic and, at times, loud environment.

- The compensation range for this role is $34 to $40 per hour. Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, skillset, experience, and/or performance, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive compensation details, inclusive of any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
