An opening for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is available to support early childhood and elementary students in a full-time, contract capacity. This role involves working closely with a diverse caseload in a school environment from late August through early June, focusing on students with a range of needs including self-contained/severe and general education settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to 5-7 students, predominantly addressing fine motor skills.
- Deliver both push-in and pull-out therapy sessions; pull-out services for more severe students take place in the Individualized Disability (ID) room.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, Registered Behavior Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants, or Licensed Practical Nurses who provide supervision.
- Conduct consultations for some students, supporting staff and general education classrooms.
- Utilize therapy rooms as well as natural classroom settings for intervention.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Wisconsin license as an OT or COTA.
- Experience working with preschool and elementary age groups.
- Skilled in managing students with severe disabilities as well as providing consultation.
- Familiarity with both push-in and pull-out occupational therapy models.
