1) Valid West Virginia teaching certificate.
2) Proper endorsements as required.
SUPPORT RELATIONSHIPS: Works cooperatively with staff members to develop and implement effective educational programs and to deliver appropriate services to students.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : This is not a regular positions of employment and has no benefits or rights under
WV Code 18A et seq. will be provided. Successful applicants will execute a temporary contract 8- 25 Hr per week based on need.
JOB GOAL: The teacher, within the area of his/her professional expertise, will instruct students using methods that are consistent with the program(s) of studies adopted by Kanawha County Board of Education and the State of West Virginia. This will be accomplished within the scope of his/her certification, the available financial resources of the school system, time and teaching resources and availability of supervisory assistance.
TEACHERS' RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implements programs of study;
2. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning;
3. Utilizes instructional management systems models that increase student learning;
4. Monitors student progress towards mastery of instructional goals and objectives;
5. Communicates effectively within the educational community, and with parents on a regular basis;
6. Meets professional responsibilities, and
7. Demonstrates competency in the knowledge and implementation of technology standards.
TEACHERS' PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
1. Provides curricula required by the state of West Virginia
2. Bases instruction on adopted curricula for the school.
3. Demonstrates accurate and current knowledge in subject field.
4. Develops appropriate lessons to teach instructional objectives.
5. Employs a variety of instructional strategies to augment achievement.
6. Uses content scope and sequence in planning.
7. Provides an atmosphere conducive to learning consistent with school/county mission.
