Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed for a K-12 school setting in the Burlington, MA area. This is a leave contract position expected to last from September through October, with typical working hours of approximately 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. This role is ideal for professionals who have experience working with students exhibiting severe behaviors. The position requires delivering occupational therapy services that support students' developmental and functional needs to enhance their participation and success in the educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct occupational therapy interventions and assessments tailored to K-12 students Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other support staff to develop effective strategies for supporting students with severe behavioral challenges Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Implement behavior management techniques that promote student engagement and safety Communicate regularly with parents and school personnel regarding student progress and needs Qualifications: Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential Experience working with children in a school-based environment, particularly with students who present severe behavioral difficulties Strong knowledge of current OT practices and behavioral intervention strategies Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with multidisciplinary teams This opportunity offers an engaging school setting focused on supporting diverse student needs during the specified leave period.
