Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 8/13/2025 Location: Early Childhood Closing Date: 08/27/2025 OAISD Job Description Job Title: Early Interventionist/Speech and Language Pathologist Job Summary: To serve as part of a Primary Service Provider (PSP) model, working with families to support and coach infants and toddlers (birth to age three) who are eligible for Early On and/or Michigan Mandatory Special Education services. This role requires supporting all areas of a child's development and collaborating with team members across disciplines. Essential Job Functions Conduct discipline-specific assessments to determine eligibility. Provide coaching-based services in home and child care settings. Participate in development and documentation of IFSPs and IEPs. Collaborate across disciplines to support whole-child development. Deliver services on a year-round calendar within natural environments. Responsibilities and Duties Conduct assessments appropriate to the field of speech-language pathology to determine eligibility for Early On or Special Education. Prepare and submit IFSP documentation in accordance with state and federal timelines. Participate in IFSP and IEP team meetings. Provide services in family homes and/or child care settings using a coaching model. Implement services on a year-round, balanced calendar. Serve as the Primary Service Provider and address all areas of a child's development, using team-based support. Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to meet legal guidelines and family preferences. Travel throughout Ottawa and Allegan counties. Perform physical activities such as lifting, sitting on the floor, stooping, crouching, and bending. Reports to: Director of Early Intervention Qualifications and Skills Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Experience: Experience working with young children (birth to age three) and their families is desired. Strong knowledge of child development is required. Essential skills: Ethical judgement; Innovation and adaptability; professionalism and leadership. Certifications: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license required. Additional required skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Ability to manage multiple job responsibilities including scheduling and completing paperwork to meet deadlines and compliance.
