  • &nbsp&nbsp The Board of Trustees of the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District invites qualified administrator candidates to apply for the position of School Site Principal. The Board is seeking a Principal who will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities and operations in an elementary or junior high setting, including the leadership of subject matter specialists and first-line administrators, teachers and other credentialed professionals, and classified staff, budget administration, and educational and categorical program management. The Principal will ensure maintenance and upkeep of school site to promote a safe learning environment.

    DISTINGUISHING CAREER FEATURES
    The School Site Principal is an administrator management position with full operational responsibility for school site operations. The School Site Principal is an appointed position and requires competency in academic and financial planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and school activities that meet current and future education and District goals. Principals will demonstrate the ability to apply considerable creativity and judgment when interpreting education code, district, and academic policies that impact student achievement, teacher success, and budget allocations aligned to district and site goals.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Plans, organizes, and implements curriculum to meet academic standards and enhance student performance. Provides professional learning to support curriculum alignment. Analyzes academic and social-emotional data and multi-tiered system of support data to assess student achievement.
    2. Ensures quality school and community relationships. Maintains proactive contacts with the community, responds to parent concerns, and establishes communications through forums, parent and community meetings, and school newsletters.
    3. Establishes, implements, and promotes programs and awareness that ensures a safe learning environment and the general safety of students and staff.
    4. Develops an aligned budget to district and site goals, which includes cost analysis and cost-effective school site management, equipment, expansion, and/or site modernization.
    5. Communicates and implements student conduct standards based on District guidelines. Orients students and parents to positive and negative behaviors and consequences.
    6. Supervises and evaluates performance of teaching, specialist, and support staff. Develops and communicates standards of ethics, professionalism, service delivery, upon which performance is rated and supports school goals and objectives.
    7. Provides direction to teachers, staff, and student programs and services. Conducts informal and formal classroom visitations and observations, providing constructive recommendations and suggestions.
    8. Prepares, coordinates, and participates in development of the master schedule of classes, room assignments, school events, and department schedules to optimize utilization of staff and facilities.
    9. Supervises and provides day-to-day management of facilities and personnel.
    10. Plans and directs programs and ensures compliance with District, State and Federal regulations.
    11. Coordinates educational program activities with district-wide departments, outside agencies, and provides parent outreach.
    12. Attends all required District meetings and actively participates in the learning with colleagues and support staff in planning, budget reviews, and problem solving.
    13. Serves as a point of coordination for school wide activities and events.
    14. Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objective of the position.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Valid California Teaching Credential
    2. Valid Administrative Services Credential
    3. Master's Degree from an accredited university with major coursework in Education or related field. Doctorate desired.
    4. At least five years of successful classroom teaching and/or coaching experience. Administrator experience desired.

    SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE
    Annual Salary Range: $134,007 - $162,455 nine (9) steps, 204 working days per year, eight (8) hours per day. Placement on the salary schedule is determined by the number of years of administrator experience. $2,500/year stipend for a Doctorate Degree; Longevity of $1,500 after 15 years of qualified District service and $3,500 after 20 years of qualified District service. Additional days, evenings/weekends as needed to perform related job duties and responsibilities. The District currently contributes up to $19,793.00 per year to family dental, medical, and vision insurance plans and a life insurance plan for employee only.
