Assistant Superintendent Of Operations
The Assistant Superintendent of Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight for the district's comprehensive operational infrastructure. This cabinet-level role ensures that security, transportation, facilities, nursing services, technology, child nutrition services, and human resources function as a cohesive, high-performing team dedicated to student success. The Assistant Superintendent bridges the gap between operational logistics and educational priorities, fostering a culture of collaborative excellence and service.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Leadership and Organizational Alignment
- Operational Integration: Leads department heads to ensure operation departments facilitate the district's mission.
- Mission-Driven Governance: Directs operational departments to achieve School Board and Superintendent objectives, specifically by identifying and eliminating logistical and departmental barriers to student achievement.
- Collaborative Governance: Presides over appointed district committees and various stakeholder groups to ensure inclusive decision-making and diverse representation.
Health, Safety, and Crisis Management
- School Safety Administration: Serves as the primary School Safety Administrator, coordinating and ensuring all operational departments are informed in order to provide a comprehensive response in accordance with the district's safety plans and emergency management protocols.
- Environmental Health Oversight: Directs district nursing services and health-related protocols to maintain a safe environment for staff and students.
- Strategic Emergency Response: Evaluates severe weather data and logistics to advise and inform the Superintendent on school closures and emergency procedures, prioritizing the safety of the school community.
- Community Relations: Serves as the point of resolution for community concerns regarding district operations.
Operational Stewardship and Fiscal Planning
- Capital and Demographic Planning: Utilizes enrollment data and demographic trends to forecast long-term operational needs and building project requirements.
- Fiscal Sustainability: Oversees operation department budgets and forecasts the impact of financial variables to ensure equitable and sustainable services.
- Executive Communication: Delivers reports to the Superintendent and School Board, as well as to the public, regarding the impact of operational decisions on the learning environment.
Performs other leadership responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
Equipment
Use standard office equipment, including personal computers, printers, copiers, calculators, and telephones.
Travel Requirements
Travel to school district building and professional meetings as required.
Pay Rate
Administrator Pay Rate: $165,131 annualized.
Work Schedule
260 days per year

License/Registration/Certification
Licensed as a Building Level Administrator and Superintendent.
Education
Master's or Doctorate Degree in Education.
Experience
Previous experience in a school system is required.
