Job Description:
To prepare our students for the rigorous demands of an academic future, STEP has adopted a holistic approach to learning by placing special emphasis on hands-on activities with real-life implications. The Saturday Learning Academy parallels and reinforces coursework found in the conventional academic setting. Students spend the academic year learning about computers, math, science, and language arts, going on field trips, preparing for ACT / SAT , and participating in specially designed workshops and programs. The Academy will meet on Saturdays between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm on the Syracuse University campus. Class sessions will range from 60-75 minutes in length. Tutorial sessions will occur via Zoom during the week, and the sessions will range 60 minutes in length.

Education and Experience:
  • Enrolled in a Masters Degree program or possess a bachelors degree.
  • Experience working with middle and high school students.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications and Zoom/Teams.


Skills and Knowledge:
  • Must have experience working with middle and high school students.
  • Must complete minor training and consent to a background check.


Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement hands-on math, science, and English activities for students lesson plans that parallel New York State Education Department Learning Standards.
  • Posses classroom management skills.
  • Develop and design innovative and creative activities that have real-life implications.
