Title: Staff Graduate Assistant Employee Classification: GS - Graduate Student - Stipend Pay Grade: {lPayScaleID} Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: Dean of Students Department: Student Life Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary With supervision from the Dean of Students, or their designee, the GA for Conduct and Care is responsible for managing student conduct cases, and assisting with the resolution of non-academic student concerns related to issues of food and housing security. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Investigate alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Facilitate meetings with students alleged to have violated the Student Code of Conduct. Work with students to develop appropriate action plans to address behavior concerns. Assist with the logistical coordination of hearing panels for conduct cases. Respond to CARE Reports, walk-ins and phone calls related to student issues to assess immediate needs and provide crisis consultation services. Coordinate and implement recommendations provided by the CARE Team regarding students in distress. Identify university and community resources available to students experiencing food insecurity and/or homelessness. Provide referrals to appropriate health and social service agencies for additional services, as required. Collaborate and establish partnerships with university departments to promote awareness and educate the campus community on available resources. Document case progress in Maxient, an electronic database. Actively participate in staff/departmental activities, meetings or other activities. Assist in collecting assessment data, which will be used to improve services, programs and communications. Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations. Assist with the daily operations of the office. Assist with maintenance of the Dean of Students website. Minimum Qualifications: Pursuit of a Master's degree in social work, psychology, college student personnel, HESA, or a related field is required.
