Job Summary:The Middle School Assistant Principal supports the Principal in providing leadership, supervision, and administration of the school's educational program. This role focuses on fostering a safe, positive, and academically rigorous learning environment while supporting staff, students, and families. The Assistant Principal helps oversee daily operations, student discipline, instructional programs, and school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Principal in managing the overall operations of the schoolSupport and evaluate instructional programs to ensure high-quality teaching and learningPromote a positive school climate focused on respect, safety, and student achievementOversee student discipline, attendance, and behavior management systemsCollaborate with teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomesParticipate in staff supervision, evaluation, and professional developmentCoordinate school activities, schedules, and eventsCommunicate effectively with parents/guardians, staff, and community membersEnsure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and safety proceduresAnalyze student data to inform decision-making and school improvement efforts
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related fieldValid state administrative certification/licensurePrior teaching experience (middle school experience preferred)Previous leadership or administrative experience (preferred)Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
