The School Psychologist Paraprofessional assists the school psychologist in the collection of student data, preparation of materials, completing psychoeducational evaluations and with other tasks. This position plays a vital role in supporting the school psychology team in meeting the academic, functional, adaptive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students. The School Psychologist Paraprofessional often serves as a liaison between the school psychologist and other educational professionals, including teachers, school mental health providers, and related service providers.

Position Duties

  1. Provides clear written and verbal communication to internal and external stakeholders
  2. Responds professionally to requests for information
  3. Adheres to the guidelines contained in the SKACD Paraprofessional Handbook
  4. Displays competence in use of common office/school technology
  5. Demonstrates healthy teamwork skills; collaborates with others in task completion
  6. Prioritizes tasks independently; is self-directed, organized, and reliable
  7. Schedules assessments sessions, consultations, and other meetings
  8. Coordinate tasks with building administrators, interpreters, parents, and other stakeholders
  9. Assists the assigned school psychologist(s) in printing reports, mailing documents, scanning files, and collecting signatures for various special education processes in accordance with SKACD procedures
  10. Participates in monthly school psychologist departmental meetings
  11. Adheres to safeguards surrounding students privacy and confidentiality
  12. Displays appropriate educational standards of behavior, dress, speech and attitude
  13. Engages in direct and frequent interactions with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams
  14. Completes and submits all special education documentation in a timely manner
  15. Assists in the administration of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional screenings under the supervision of the school psychologist
  16. Completes other duties as assigned

If you are not currently certified/endorsed in your area of special education, we will pay $2000 per semester of your masters program to enable you to become certified. $10,000 towards student loan repayment; we will repay up to $1,000 per semester. This includes student loans you accrued prior to working for SKACD.
