The School Psychologist Paraprofessional assists the school psychologist in the collection of student data, preparation of materials, completing psychoeducational evaluations and with other tasks. This position plays a vital role in supporting the school psychology team in meeting the academic, functional, adaptive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students. The School Psychologist Paraprofessional often serves as a liaison between the school psychologist and other educational professionals, including teachers, school mental health providers, and related service providers.
Position Duties
- Provides clear written and verbal communication to internal and external stakeholders
- Responds professionally to requests for information
- Adheres to the guidelines contained in the SKACD Paraprofessional Handbook
- Displays competence in use of common office/school technology
- Demonstrates healthy teamwork skills; collaborates with others in task completion
- Prioritizes tasks independently; is self-directed, organized, and reliable
- Schedules assessments sessions, consultations, and other meetings
- Coordinate tasks with building administrators, interpreters, parents, and other stakeholders
- Assists the assigned school psychologist(s) in printing reports, mailing documents, scanning files, and collecting signatures for various special education processes in accordance with SKACD procedures
- Participates in monthly school psychologist departmental meetings
- Adheres to safeguards surrounding students privacy and confidentiality
- Displays appropriate educational standards of behavior, dress, speech and attitude
- Engages in direct and frequent interactions with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams
- Completes and submits all special education documentation in a timely manner
- Assists in the administration of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional screenings under the supervision of the school psychologist
- Completes other duties as assigned
