801001 - Assistant Reading Instructor - (State Paid) Aides paid by the state to serve in grades K-3.801003 - Teacher Aide - Aides that do not fit either of the other aide categories listed. Works under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor.801004 - Teacher Aide - Title I - Aides funded by Title I. Required Endorsement(s): NoneQUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 60 hours of college coursework and/or Associate's Degree,
  2. Demonstrates aptitude for work to be performed,
  3. Good communication skills, good work ethic, responsible and punctual, and
  4. Such alternatives to above as Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:

Teacher(s), Principal, and/or Designee

JOB GOAL:

To help provide a well-organized, efficient class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program. To help reinforce skills and lessons taught by the instructor and supplement basal instruction to stimulate achievement.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Attend and actively participate in in-service training programs

  2. Assist as directed in improving students' reading skills

  3. Assist as directed in improving students' mathematics skills

  4. Assist as directed in improving students' basic skills in other academic areas

  5. Operate within school district policies and procedures

  6. Promote a positive image of the school district program tot he public

  7. Be an effective role model for students

  8. Work harmoniously with staff and students

  9. Contribute to the development and implementation of a successful instructional program

  10. Assist with room arrangements such as interest centers, regrouping offurniture for group activities

  11. Supervise independent student study

  12. Work cooperatively with the classroom teacher in the instructional planning process

  13. Assist the classroom teacher with resource files, student unit packets.

  14. Perform other such duties and responsibilities as the Teacher, Principal, and/or Designee may assign from time to time.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary, workday, and work year to be determined by the Board of Trustees.

EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board policy on evaluation of support staff.
