Step into a vital school-based role supporting student mental health and success! This contract opportunity is located just south of Washington DC and requires on-site presenceno remote or hybrid work. Youll work full-time hours (37.5/week) across two schools, serving a diverse K-12 population.
Starting August 11, 2026, and continuing through May 26, 2027, youll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute your expertise in psychoeducational assessment, and play an essential part in making a difference for students.
Key Qualifications:
- Active VA DOE (Department of Education) Certification
- Active Virginia Psychologist License
- Experience in school-based assessment, consultation, FBA (Functional Behavioral Assessment), and BIP (Behavior Intervention Plan) development
- Willingness to assist with MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) as needed
- Familiarity with supporting social workers in counseling situations is a plus
- Immediate eligibility and willingness to complete VA Dept. of Social Services background check and TB Test
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments, focusing on behavioral and social-emotional needs (no academic achievement testing required)
- Participate in and support consultation efforts alongside educators, social workers, and building diagnosticians
- Provide expertise to FBA/BIP processes and offer guidance to behavior intervention teams
- Support MTSS implementation and collaborative initiatives to foster student success
