This onsite position offers the unique opportunity to support a diverse K-12 caseload while collaborating closely with educators and families.
Whats needed to excel in this role:
- Active AK SLP license and DEED (teaching) certification (required)
- Experience or passion for working with children and adolescents in a school-based environment
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Comfort with mild to moderate caseloads; elementary assignments average about 4550 students, while high school averages are closer to 60 (with consult-based support as applicable)
- Collaborative mindset for effective partnerships with teachers, parents, and support staff
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments, designing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing direct and consultative speech-language services
- Maintaining timely documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
- Participating in IEP meetings and actively contributing to student success plans
- Adapting strategies to meet the range of ages and abilities encountered, from elementary to high school
- Fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
