Occupational Therapist School Setting in Wichita, KS

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Occupational Therapist license for the state or eligibility to obtain
• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred
• Solid understanding of IEP processes and documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize caseload and manage time in a school-based schedule
• Flexibility and adaptability when working with diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups
• Conduct assessments and interpret results to determine needs and develop intervention plans
• Participate actively in the IEP process, attending meetings and contributing to documentation
• Create and implement activities to improve fine motor, sensory-motor, and functional life skills
• Consult regularly with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
• Train education staff on strategies and accommodations to support student success in the classroom
• Maintain detailed and timely records of all services, interventions, and outcomes
