The Ridgefield Public Schools has a vacancy for an Elementary Assistant Principal commencing with the 2026-27 school year. The Elementary Assistant Principal assists the elementary principal with special education, teacher evaluation as well as overall support to the school. This is a 200 day position.

The successful candidate should have:

• Kindness, intelligence, creativity, and a sense of humor.
• Eligibility for Connecticut certification as an Intermediate Administrator. Endorsement 92.
• A record of superior performance as a teacher and evidence of successful school leadership.
• A strong academic record, both undergraduate and graduate.
• Substantial knowledge of elementary curricula.
• Substantial knowledge of special education laws and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community.
• A steady composure, grace under pressure and a willingness to try new things.
