Graduation from an accredited program in occupational therapy 2. Valid license issued by the State of Kentucky to practice occupational therapy Job Goal: Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and procedures for occupational therapy and assessment; provide occupational therapy to eligible students. Duties: 1. Develop, implement and evaluate programs and procedures for occupational therapy and assessment; develop and review Individual Education Plan therapy goals, make recommendations and adjust as appropriate; and interpret program to parents and school personnel. 2. Research, evaluate and interpret data and other information regarding the effectiveness of the occupational program and submit periodic reports as requested. 3. Prepare written evaluations, maintain records and prepare reports concerning individual students, review medical and therapy reports to assure compliance with established laws, regulations and procedures. 4. Communicate with agencies, schools, and other organizations to coordinate services; contact vendors concerning supplies and equipment for therapy needs; coordinate occupational therapy referrals. 5. Operate a variety of therapeutic equipment and Assistive Technology devices; train others in the use of such equipment as necessary; maintain equipment in proper working condition. 6. Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services. Knowledge of: 1. Principles and techniques of occupational therapy 2. Laws and regulations concerning special education, medical records, and therapeutic services 3. Neurology, anatomy, physiology including fine motor, sensory, perceptual, and manipulation, skill development 4. Occupational therapy evaluation instruments 5. Oral and written communication skills 6. Record-keeping techniques 7. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy 8. Kid-friendly 9.
