Job Description

Position Summary

The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological servicesincluding assessment, intervention, consultation, and preventionto support all students' academic, behavioral, and emotional well-being. This role requires cultural responsiveness, an understanding of diverse student needs, and a commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

This is a 10-month position. The salary for this position will be $49,037 to $89,059 annually, based on experience and in accordance with the current, negotiated Salamanca Teachers Association (STA) Contract. Key Responsibilities

Promote Learning Excellence by conducting assessments and interventions that support academic achievement and individual learning needs.

Build Respectful Relationships with students, families, and community partners.

Provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.

Demonstrate Effective Communication when consulting with teachers, administrators, and families to develop coordinated support plans.

Collaborate with school teams to design interventions that address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

Support prevention programs, including social-emotional learning, mental wellness, and positive behavior supports.

Advocate for equitable access to services and appropriate accommodations for all students.

Model Continuous Improvement by using data, feedback, and professional learning to refine practices and enhance student outcomes.

Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Participate in school-wide initiatives that strengthen inclusive practices and support overall student well-being.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master's degree in School Psychology or related field with valid New York State certification or the ability to obtain it.

Demonstrated commitment to supporting diverse student populations.

Strong skills in effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building.

Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and strengths-based approaches.

Commitment to learning excellence and continuous improvement in student support services.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in school settings with diverse student populations.

Training in trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, or social-emotional supports.

Familiarity with MTSS/RTI frameworks and the NASP Practice Model.
