Description

The Director of Special Education will provide oversight and administer all programs that are state and federally mandated under IDEA, Chapter 14, Chapter 15, and Chapter 16 of the PA code. They will serve as the educational leader for the special education department and will work synchronously with the building principals. This position manages and assumes overall responsibility for special education programs, personnel, and reporting. They will also maintain a positive learning climate that provides opportunities for all students and teachers to be successful.

Applicants should have:

Instructional II certification in Special Education,

five (5) years of experience in public education (preferably in a special education capacity),

Pennsylvania administrative or special education supervisory certification.

Previous supervisory experience is preferred. This is an Act 93 position.
